This blog is just over 5 years old. It's been neglected because we can't keep up with two busy boys, two old houses, and all of the things that happen in between. Jude Aengus turned 5 on Saturday and we spent the day out and about enjoying all the things a big boy gets to do for fun. We are hoping to move soon, so when we do and things are tidy enough for pictures we will post some of the new old house (this will be 60's vs. 1903...the fun never ends).

catch up and a big birthday today!
We are behind in posting Christmas pics and baby A bday pics. We all received colds for the new year- sorry! But we are hoping this week we will get a bit more on track.

One year ago today we were holding a new, small bundle of joy. He came early so he didn't weigh as much as predicted, but we were thrilled to find out that we had a second boy to love. We call Bennett "bear", so his first birthday cupcakes matched his nickname. They were jumbo sized and have a sprinkling of "snow" since its so cold today- and was when he was born!
homemade powdered sugar frosting, but baby B just liked the cake part.
happy bday, love. you make our hearts sing.

pumpkin anniversaries and halloween recap
Last week I dragged the boys to the pumpkin patch to celebrate the one year pumpkinversary announcing our second pregnancy. It's true, the time flies. I am sappy sad at the very thought. Lucky for us the weather was very warm by afternoon so we could all go sockless and in sandals. Can you believe the size of those pumpkins? And the day after Halloween they were GIVING THEM away! You bet I filled up every spot in my vehicle not taken by a stroller or a car seat. I love pumpkins for the whole fall, not just October.
7 months in the belly, and 10 out!
In order to coax the boys into their bumblebee gear we used toys, pleas, and finally m&ms. Baby A was not remotely interested in sharing anything with his brother. Photographic chaos resulted.
Even though it was a herculean task to get these little bees to cooperate we wanted to document the cuteness.

oh my, where has the time gone?
We haven't posted in a few months because of the obvious problem- two boys = very busy. But a happy busy it is most of the time. Unless everyone is tired, dirty and hungry...
We had a nice family visit to Galveston this summer. If you follow us on instagram you might have seen our summer adventures involving watermelon, pools and ice cream.

And of course we do some running around in the yard and parks each day we can, too. Looking forward to fall weather so we can be outside more often without so many bugs and so much heat. Hope you are doing well! Hello from all of us.
baby A is almost three!
and baby B is 8 months
both worth celebrating everyday. let's have a cupcake.

Ahh, brotherly love.

I was lucky to get some of Baby A's clothes back from a good friend for Baby B! Such fun to compare them at about the same age.

Progress on the work in progress, the boys get a room in the old house
We wanted the boys to have their very own room to share when the baby came home from the hospital. That didn't work out since Bennett came earlier than expected, but the newly renovated bedroom for the two boys was really worth the wait. This was originally our master bedroom. We still have some finishing touches to work on, but we all like spending time in this great new room.
Kudos to Daddy for working hard to get it done.
Because the boys are sharing a room one has a twin bed and one has a crib, and mama has a couch and rocking chair to deal with each of them. We were blessed to receive the lovely original artwork above from Kathy, a family friend. We've been looking for nautical things to compliment it ever since!
Where'd we get all this stuff?
Twin bed, table, chair and armchair, Pottery Barn outlet
Family handmedowns, crib & changing table, thanks Noah and Maddie!
Target sheets for both beds
Students made the paper mache lemon for Mama
Thrifted ottoman

Egg smashing with cousins, we are so egg-cited!
We had loads of fun with our cousins yesterday. Baby A learned to smash confetti eggs with his foot since he wasn't quite able to smash them by throwing them. Thank you Aunt Julie for so much eggy fun. Today Aengy found a big fuzzy rabbit eared friend in his bed and he couldn't wait to show Daddy.
